U radu se govori o rasprostranjenosti navedene vrste u Hrvatskoj, karakteristikama i stanju staništa na kojem je zabilježena, kao i omogućem stupnju ugroženosti u fauni danjih leptira Hrvatske. Adult demography, dispersal and behaviour of Brenthis ino (Lepidoptera: Nymphalidae): how to be a successful wetland butterfly
Continent-wide loss of traditionally managed humid meadows is raising concern for associated butterfly specialists across Europe. However, not all species associated with this biotope are threatened, and the Lesser Marbled Fritillary (Brenthis ino) has even spread locally. We employed mark-recapture and transect walks to study its population structure and patterns of landscape occupancy in a hi...

The Woodland Brown butterfly Lopinga achine (Scopoli, 1763) was found during several fieldtrips in summer 2000 and 2001 in continental Croatia and discovered for the first time in Istria. The discovery in Istria represents the western limit of the distribution range in Croatia. The Woodland Brown is considered rare in Croatia, according to previous findings. In this paper we discuss the distrib...

In this paper, two methods for assessing the degree of melanization of pupal exuviae from the butterfly Heliconius erato phyllis, Fabricius 1775 (Lepidoptera, Nymphalidae, Heliconiini) are compared. In the first method, which was qualitative, the exuviae were classified by scoring the degree of melanization, whereas in the second method, which was quantitative, the exuviae were classified by op...
متن کاملThe role of the North Atlantic Oscillation in controlling U.K. butterfly population size and phenology
1. The North Atlantic Oscillation (NAO) exerts considerable control on U.K. weather. This study investigates the impact of the NAO on butterfly abundance and phenology using 34 years of data from the U.K. Butterfly Monitoring Scheme (UKBMS).2. The study uses a multi-species indicator to show that the NAO does not affect overall U.K. butterfly population size. However, the abundance of bivoltine...
متن کاملDescription of a new species of Forsterinaria Gray from the Pantepuy (Lepidoptera: Nymphalidae: Satyrinae)
A new species of montane butterfly, Forsterinaria hannieri n. sp. (Nymphalidae, Satyrinae) is described from the Guyana Shield in Venezuela. It is most similar to F. inornata (c. Felder & r. Felder, 1867) known from western slopes of the Andes in Colombia and Ecuador, but it shows unequivocal differences, especially in the male genital morphology.
